Multicultural Festivals and Events Grants
The Multicultural Festival and Events Grants, are designed to encourage the participation of the whole community in celebrating and valuing cultural diversity. The grants help to promote awareness of cultural diversity, community contributions, mutual respect and understanding.
This is the first round of the Multicultural Festival and Events Grants for this financial year.
The purpose of the Multicultural Festival and Events Grants is to provide financial support to major festivals, conferences and/or special ethnic community events that aim to:
- encourage participation of the whole community in celebrating and valuing cultural diversity;
- promote awareness of cultural diversity, community contributions, mutual respect and understanding;
- address a major issue through a conference or special event.
The Multicultural Festival and Events Grants will not fund the following:
- applications submitted by individuals ;
- competitions, commercial or fund raising activities;
- events held for the sole benefit of members of the applicant organisation;
- recurrent administrative, infrastructure and other organisational costs;
- set-up or running costs of a business, purchase of capital equipment (including hardware or software), or set-up and maintenance of Internet sites;
- events held outside Victoria;
- funding for overseas people or organisations to visit Victoria;
- funding for transport to interstate conferences or events;
- organisations that receive income from electronic gaming machines;
- organisations that have failed to abide by the terms and conditions of previously provided grants funded by the Victorian Multicultural Commission; and;
- organisations seeking retrospective funding for projects that have already started or have been completed.
Schools are encouraged not to apply for funding in this round, but instead apply for funding for activities held during Celebrate our Cultural Diversity Week. Applications for this funding round close on Friday 27 March
