Lions Club
The Violet Town Lions Club Inc was formed more than fifty years ago.
The Club’s main fundraiser is the Lions BBQ held at the monthly Violet Town Market. The Lions Club also hosts the annual Christmas Carols event, and also cooks the breakfast at the Australia Day events, along with collecting money for the Royal Children’s Hospital appeal.
The Club donates money to local community groups and assist community members who are in need.
The Lions meet at 7.30 pm on the second Wednesday (business meeting) and 4th Wednesday (dinner meeting/meet and greet) of each month at the Ellen Frances Hotel.
Any persons interested in joining the club, or making a submission regarding donations are welcome to attend any meeting. Membership is open to men and women of the community in good standing.
Lions Clubs are part of community life in cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto. Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
